Trying to update to KDE 3.2.1

I downloaded a complete set of Mandrake RPMs for KDE 3.2.1 (from here if anyoen is interested) into a directory and am wondering how to install them. Do I absolutely need to remove all the KDE 3.2.0 packages first or can I use the update switch of rpm?
    I tried just
    rpm -ivh *.rpm

from within the directory, but needless to say that was a bit of a flop.
Is there a specific order to install all these packages?

First thing to try is rpm -Uvh instead.
This might be all you need, unless packages have changed names (happens a lot).

If you still have problems, try removing any kde devel packages
you have installed and try again. It'll remove a lot of dependencies.
Failing that, upgrade your window manager to xfce4 :-)

Hehe, yeah, I actually installed xfce by accident the other day, haven't got round to playing with it yet.
