Ack! Slane Tickets

Awake since 7am this morning trying for them phoning and gave up that for online and I still cant get them. Even my sister was queing at hmv, but they sold out there b4 8 and then she went to grafton street.
Goddamn these things.

Did ANYONE get them online?

My friends were queing from like 4am and there was alread 100 people there. FFS!!

There were about 600 there by 7 and only 30 got tickets.

My brother's freind was queing since like 12 last night, and I think my brother got them by phoning ticket master up this morning.

No, not at all. Some guy called Aaron sent me a mail telling me he got me slane tickets. Whether or not he still has them to give could be debatable, and since I am currently in the UK i could have trouble collecting them.

I was at HMV Grafton St. from 5am this morning. Only about a thouasnd I'd say, the queue went up towards Stephens Green and around to the Joke Shop.
Barely anyone actually got tickets if any at all. At 7am, nothing happened, at about 7:35am the barricades fell down and everyone ran for the doors.
A handfull of Gardaí held the crowd at bay, lads were shouting "up the 'ra" and chanting "Golden Disc's".
Anyway, we were told that 2,500 tickets had been allocated to that outlet and that there were 65 outlets nationwide that had to have stocks aswell. I can tell that nowhere near two and half thousand people were even on Grafton St. at the time so the whole thing was a complete shambles, I didn't get any tickets and I could understand the frustration of people who had been there since Friday night without getting close to the shop.
Poor organisation and Ticketmaster's monopoly on the business is to blame. Not only would you be paying £3 to Ticketmaster for a service charge but for the tens of thousands who booked by phone and the net, there was a 12% extra charge which seems ridiculous.

on Ireland AM on tv3 this morning they had the owner of slane on and he said their thring to get a Slane-II. U2 are aparently free the following saturday.... but it depends on planning permission.

This time i'm queing as soon as i come out of work at 10pm

Badly handled mess, I think setting a limit of 8 tickets was a mistake, it's just inviting people to sell them on at increased prices.

I got 4 tickets through the Early release thing via U2.com - several others i my office did the same. No queuing, no stress, no worries!

Sorry to those who don't have tickets - I'm not trying to rub it in, but I'd say there's bee another lump of them released within 6 weeks.
