To close friends to start a relationship.

I am friends with a very good looking girl about 6 years now. I didn't find her attractive at first but as I got to know her the more I fancied her. We have had a few kisses when we were both drink but nothing more. I would love to get together with her but we are too close friends that I can't even imagine kissing her anymore.

I would be willing to risk our friendship for a relationship with her but I can't see it happening. I mean, what happens if we are both together and we start kissing or whatever, if it was any other girl I would talk to her straight after but we would both be too embarrased to. If you see two friends kissing in a film, they either go to bed with each other, fall asleep and someone goes in the early hours (she is not the kind of girl that would do that) or the two kiss, one says we shouldn't have done that and goes (which will not happen).

Just wondering was there anyone else in a situation like this and what did you do, etc?

aha, but films arnt the best things to base ur major descisions on.
    go for it.
tell her how u feel, reassure her if she says no, that it wont fuk up the friendship.
too many great relationships dont happen because of stuff like this.

    Ask her what she wants.

Why are you lamenting the fact that you can get with a good looking girl that you like outside of the context of sex?

There's poor fukers in other threads whinging about wanting exactly what you have.

    *bump*

Maybe you should do a swap?

If you're such good friends you should be able to talk to each other about your feelings surely? It might be a bit awkward but you should get over it. And its better to risk something than forever regret not doing anything.

I was in the same situation as you - but we were friends for about 10 years - went to school together & all that crap - I was even going out with his best friend when I realised that it was him that I wanted to be with -- 4 Years later & we were still together ... all I'm trying to say is that it might not be what she wants but maybe it is & you'll never know unless you give her some idea of what you're thinking.....

Is he still best friends with your ex?

I'll say one things, true friends are hard to come by, and when you have them they are worth fighting to keep them. also things we turn a blind eye to as friends we may find alot harder to as partners. I mean even hte best of friends wouldn't spends the same amonth of times together or be as intamite with each other as lovers mights be, thats something to think about.

I reckon go for it. A few years ago, I went out with the guy next door for three months (had known him since I was a tot), we broke up but since we had such a good friendship beforehand, we are still great friends to this day.

Since you've known the girl for ages, and you wanna try something, you may as well jus go for it. Ye have already established a major friendship already, even if ye did break up after a while, it prolly wouldn't affect your friendship anyway.

So tell her how you feel, she's prolly thinkin the same anyway :)

the closer you are the better to start a r'ship, if it breaks up the f'ship ten it wasn't very strong in the first place
