I picked one up on ebay (from the UK). It was difficult to get Wacom brand in the shops here at that time. Not sure if availability is better now.

And yes - they are good. I've never had any trouble with mine.

Hey solaris do you use it with photoshop? Is it much easier than drawing with a mouse? How big is it, and does size matter;) ?
I might get that one in Dixons if size isn't an issue.

Yes, I bought if for Photoshop. I use it for editing photos rather than drawing, it's much easier than using a mouse for marking out selections etc. It is also pressure sensitive, so if you are using the paintbrush tool (for paining a mask etc.) the harder you press down the higher the opacity. I couldn't go back to using a mouse for PS.

The drawing area on mine is about A6. That is fine for PS. I guess if you were going to use it for painting/sketching /art bigger might be better.
