Anyone bought from over-clock.co.uk before?

    Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right forum to post a question like this (newbie alert! :)), but here it goes...

I was surfing for prices on an Asus 9800XT\TVD and came accross some good prices on www.over-clock.co.uk. They quote prices in GBP and EUR, the EUR looking better than what you'd get from a straight exchange rate conversion (GBP320/EUR442 for the 9800XT).

Has anyone had any experience with these guys?

    Also, any opinions on www.overclock.co.uk?

    Any opinions greatly appreciated!

I used overclock.co.uk recently to but a case and they were excellent - they use a DECENT courier - Nightline, have online order tracking, and couldn't have been more helpful on the phone.

Package was sent normal business post (2-4) days and was here overnight and at my door 24hours later.

Site doesn't support Opera properly (can't use it for c/c and the menu system doesn't expand) but it ignores this if you set Opera to pretend it's Mozilla.

overclockers are a different company to overclock.co.uk.

overclockers are quite good for TFTs.

Thats a different company. Ive used both several times and would recommend overclock.co.uk. Overclockers.co.u k are pretty good too, but Overclock.co.uk ship faster and had more of the stock I was interested in (at better prices too).

I ordered everything on this comp from www.overclockers.co.uk . Not sure if they are the same as the companies that you listed (2 different sites!) If its overclockers.co.uk I'd reccomend them.

One problem was that they said I had to split the order into 2 as it was too heavy. I did all this, there was a problem with payment. They never contacted me about it. I had to contact them 2 days after the order was placed.

i think everyone might have their wires crossed here.

all very similar but completely different :confused:

Yep, I was originally asking about www.over-clock.co.uk, but www.overclock.co.uk looks like a good spot to buy from too. If anyone has direct experience with over-clock I'd appreciate it. They say they use Parcel Force or ER mail (not sure what that is exactly), so considering the threads on Parcel Force problems for Komplett users, I was a little curious.

I'll take a look at overclockers too and see what they have.

    Thanks for the tips all!

    Just an update.

I mailed www.over-clock.co.uk and they say they deliver to Ireland. I'm waiting for them to answer my query about their quoted Euro prices. As they are often to be less than the current exchange rate on the higher range items, I wanted them to tell me if I would be charged the quoted Euro price or GBP equivolent.

From the helpful posts above, it looks like there's no problem with delivery from www.overclock.co.uk and www.overclocker.co.uk to Ireland. Haven't had time to browse their offerings yet... bloody work getting in the way again...

    Thanks again for the feedback...

Well... They didn't answer my mail about the Euro pricing, but I just checked their site again and the Euro prices have been removed!

I think I have my answer.

Well, even with the current exchange rate the prices for the 9800XT are less than Komplett, and much less than Elara's. I might just risk it. Will let ya's know what the service is like if I do.
