The Liverpool team for tonight's game is:

    Dudek
    Carragher
    Hyypia
    Biscan - what?
    Riise
    Gerrard
    Hamann
    Murphy
    Kewell
    Owen
    Heskey

Subs: Luzi, Baros, Henchoz, Diouf, Cheyrou

*Surprise* start for Biscan... Baros on the bench..

How much longer can this madness go on?

yes now if they can beat a team that is in the top half of the table.;) He is a good manager put unfortunatley it doesnt look like he is up to managing liverpool.

Could have been 6-0. Good result, good performace until it got ragged as Porstmouth started playing dirty as well as poorly.

So why was Michael on form tonight....?

I dunno... I'm starting to thing Houllier actually wants Liverpool to be sh!t for as long as possible by just doing enough to keep his job.

Wow they finally beat Portsmouth at the third attempt ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,148 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

Get your facts correct it was the 4th attempt ;)

So Would Liverpool fans prefer 4th and keep Hoo-Hoo or finish 5th and get rid of him? :D

Champions League is essential. If we get 5th and GH goes how will be be able to tempt a new manager in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,298 ✭✭✭laoisfan

being a liverpoolfan and a laoisfan i would like to think that GH is gone regardless if we get a CL spot or not.

GH has had his chance, time for someone else to try...hopefully Martin O'Neill.

You've noticed too? Its his lose-win-lose strategy, always doing just enough to hang on by his fingertips, but yet keeping Liverpool mediocre.

I think Houlier is gone regardless of 4th place or not ..... or even if we win the UEFA cup ..... the board have stuck by long enough but this poor football / ****ed up tactics / ball-less managerial after match comments have been going on for at least 2 seasons now and even in our successful season with 3 cup wins , we didn't do it playing attractive / rip opposition teams apart typw football.

We struggled and had an enormous amount of luck.

However Houliers main failing IMO is replacing :

    Folwer
    Littmanen
    McAllister
Babble (whom he loaned out !!!)

    ..... with utter **** like Douif & Daoi (10m & 3m) - shockingly bad business.

Happy days, seems like a convincing victory too!

5th place is only guaranteed UEFA cup next year. 6th place gets nothing due to Boro getting a slot from Carling cup and the way the FA last 4 teams has worked out. So if pool get 6th place, then they'll have no european football.

I'm nearly positive that 6th place is guaranteed the UEFA cup.

I'm not a Liverpool fan and thereof can't really understand what its like to be one but its a sad case when you see fans making such a big deal about beating Portsmouth. Really shows that something needs to be done when you get reactions like some of them on this topic

After the results of ther last few weeks this win was welcome and much appreciated. 2 goals for Michael Owen likewise especially after his peno miss last w/end. It's a false hope though IMO and we'll struggle to get 4th spot. The only saving grace is that Newcastle are also playing sh1t and Charlton and Southampton always slip up!!!!
