Has anyone else seen this? I'd never heard of it before tonight and was done in Xtravision when I spooted Ed Norton in a dinosaur costume (turned out to be a pink rhino). Directed by Danny DeVito and costars Robin Williams and made in association with FilmFour.

Its like Matilda gone made, throw in a few f-words and you're set.

Thought it was v strange to have never even heard of the movie before..wouldn't say its good, but worth a watch in what has to be one of the most surreal episodes of filmaking. Gas to see Williams and Norton skating in their respective children's entertainer costumes at the end.

hope you dont think Im being patronising but here goes:
its actually called Death to Smoochy, its the third part of Williams 'psycho' characters, but this one is funny. Its not like Matilda... at all.... Its about a kids show presenter (williams) who gets found out to be taken bribes from parents to get their kids on the show. Hes kicked off and replaced by Smoochy (norton) who is innocent and clean cut. Williams then decides it is best to kill Norton for taking his job.

Aint actually seen it, but my brother did and said its brillliant, as have afew mates of mine.
The reason we didnt hear much of it is because it bombed in the US (and nearly destroyed FilmFour... or did... not sure). It got a straight to video here, with little or no ads. My friend told me to look out for it, and it got some good reviews, from the likes of Empire etc....

I watched the movie a while ago. It is ok. I liked the dark humour in it. Not a movie I would buy or rent again. If your stuck for something to rent in xtravison get it but thats about it.

I didn't see the movie but I saw the cover in Xtravision. I was like WTF? It was weird seeing Edward Noron in a hippo costume and the picture of him at the back was so funny.:)

I watched it with some friends a few days ago. Only two of us enjoyed it. Mind you, the others rented "Three Blind Mice" once, so they obviously have no taste :)

I liked it a lot, Robin Williams was perfect in the role. The ending did drag out a bit but that big cheesy finish made it worth it in a perverted sortof way.

I saw this movie a while ago... saw it listed in a Ed Norton filmography and hunted it down in Xtravision (luckily it had just been released that week)
I have to say I loved the movie and I'm trying to find where I can purchase it (and not having much luck).

I totally hate Barney and I saw a few scarey similarities to cute ole Smoochy...
The ending was a bit flat... they shudda nuked Smoochy!! hehe!
