    Hi all,

I am trying to move a mysql database from one server to another, and basically it should all go swimmingly but for one small glitch.

I am dumping the db using the --opt parameter, and a fine job it is doing!

the problem is, I can use a frontend provided by hosting365 to use the txt file and recreate all structure and data, but for the comments put into the text file.

at certain point there are comments starting with "--" and the import facility does not like them.

does anyone know how to dump the db and leave out the comments?

    ta in advance!

    doh!

during the dump mysqldump makes a little header for the dumpfile, and it contains a "
" divider line, and it is THAT what the import utility chokes on...

    thanks anyway peeps!
