Easier way to cancel NTL

I checked old posts but couldn't find an answer...

I'd rather paid the 30 euro paid to NTL every 2 month to Extravision... To do so I need to cancel NTL.
I read their terms and conditions... and it doesn't look like to be easy to cancel.
What should I do? I don't use direct debit so I can stop paying them... I guess I will receive a couple of letters and then be cut off?

    Any advice will be welcome!

Please, don't tell me I have to call them!!!

    Raphael

Write to them and ask them to confirm it. Inform them that you are cancellng the DD at the appropriate time. Be reasonable..if you need to give them a months notice do so and pay them for that month. Don't give them an excuse to come back to you!

Unless you are experiencing major problems with the service (and believe me, you do not have to look very hard to realise how crap ntl is!!!), and that they will not fix it OR if your 12 month minimum contract is up, you are not in any legal position to cancel your subscription. You are required to first lodge an official letter of complaint IN WRITING to them, to tell them that you wish to cancel your service. You must tell them why you wish to disconnect, and if it is for a problem, they will disconnect you at no charge, but if you simply want to get rid of the service, then you will be required to pay the difference between what you have paid, and what you would have paid for 12 months.

That's the bad thing about contracts! Don't sign 'em unless you are willing to agree to them, because you have no legal rights to disconnect before 12 months.
