i just got the email yesterday. all i need to do is free up 5gigs it takes to install and oogle at some sexy elves.

how big is the download? will it fit on cd?

mere 1.1gigs download. 5 hours on dsl connection. a night in a pub. a power nap. the time it takes to finish call of duty on normal.... i could go on

Dont mind that 5 gigs malarky, mine takes up 2.32 Gigs.

and to be honest... its not that great.

There are 2 sexes (duh!) 2 classes & 5 races.

But each race is pretty much exactly the same in terms of different classes.

the game consists of running around, clicking on a target, nephytir/wolf/orc etc. clicking on attack/cast spell and killing it.

Then repeat.

Granted the PvP is supposed to be great, I havent gotten into that just yet, but I cant imagine it improving the game all that much.

Also, the closed beta is finished on the 28th, so I'm told, followed by a player wipe and an open beta.

All I can say is, I'm not impressed...

I got it myself, been playing it today.

First things first, what most people fail to remember, it is "CLOSED Beta", meaning it's still very early development, yes, it's not very polished yet, there's not a lot of content, it's buggy. Whaddya expect?

I'm quite impressed actually, the PvP is quite funny, keep getting owned though In the full game btw, there's way more than 2 classes and 5 races afaik.

Well, I say 2 classes, but really there is alot more. They are split up into subclasses as well. I think each class as at least 2 and some of the warrior/<race> have 3 subclasses.

These arent accessible till level 20.

Some interesting skills, and I think I could get to like it, but I just dont know... I need more play time I think

theres a new patch out already. loads new content but wont know untill the servers go back online tonight 8PM PST (4am tuesday morning). bah. its a big one too. i've got 150megs so far. going still

Yeah, I sat there patiently as it downloaded.

Finally got bored and started playing CS.

Went to bed.

Next morning I get up, my computer is foobar.

I had to reinstall reason for somesuch reason. I have the original download, the 1.1 Gig installation, but I'm not using another 150+ mb to get the patch, so I think I'm packing it in till the open beta
