Yeah most Voodoo gigs seem to be "chase the drumkit" rather than actual gigs.

We played Voodoo on New Years eve and said this to Shay and the engineer during the soundcheck, we couldn't complete one song before the bass drum was at 90 degrees!

I suggested putting an amp in front of either side of the drum but they said no, cos the engineer doesn't like guitar amps pointing out front. So they ended up putting a bag on gravel in front of the bass drum which weighed about 1kg.

Suffice to say, three interrupted songs in and we were putting the amps in front of the bass drum ;)

I find when using other peoples hi-hat stands that the hats run away from me.... and I have experienced the bass drum doing the same. I wonder how some drummers put up with it!
My own kit has spiked hats as well as bass drum legs so it's not a problem when using my own... it's not fun during a tune though when the kit gets away from ye!

We had a rather elegant solution. eg: me putting my foot on the bass drum:D

yeah the old spiked pegs are handy enough....I remember at times when playing I had to almost stand up off the stool to reach the pedal...:dunno: very awkward.
