Febreze for hair???

Pub and smokey smells linger in my hair for hours.
People actually comment on this so it has to be fairly obvious.

I don't use hairsprays, though they might mask the smell a little.

Other than that, any idea how I can actually *prevent* my hair absorbing and holding so much "smoke"?

    :dunno:

When I had long hair I found washing it to be quite effective.

have you considered washing your hair?

at the risk of being cruel, wash it!!

there are dry shampoos that you can purchase, usually in chemists. I wonder if these would be of any use to you. Anyway, all you have to do is wait until the end of the month.

    Smartass!

Full marks for not thinking this through!

Obviously washing is the ideal and usual solution.
However... what if I'd like my boyfriend/parent/kid NOT to guess that I'd had a leisurely couple of pints with friends mid-afternoon in my busy local when I rush home to make dinner at 6??

Instant hair-freshener is what I need!

You've not long to wait for the smoking ban anyway - it's at the end of March.

Brody, did you not see my comment about dry shampoos. You don't wash your hair with these. As far as I know, you simply rub it in and comb out.

Also, thierry Mugler's (?) Angel perfume range used to have a hair mist spray.

Nobody else sees something wrong with this, trying to hide drinking from people?

There are sprays you can get, hair perfume things.

Check down by the Shampoos in Boots or somewhere, they should be there.

You can certainly buy hair fresheners, they're supposed to be for when you haven't had to time to wash your hair. I have a Charles Werthington one. It's great, leaves your hair fresh and shiny. It probably costs a bundle, being designer, but I don't know. It came free with my hairdryer.

    Try Boots.

if dry shampoos in Boots are 2 expensive, try a pet shop.
I got a dry shampoo there for my cat and it works.
    She smells soooooooooo bad..........

pet chop may not be such a bad idea. my friend has a little terrier that smells like its slowly decaying inside, tho he is very old (the dog, not the friend).

they recently got a pina colada scented spray for the dog, and now he smells like happy hour south of the border instead of rancid dog farts.

    hey i have an idea,
why are you hiding from your family/friends that you were at the pub?
if your hiding it maybe you shouldnt be doing it,
how about not doing it and all your problems will be solved

A flatmate used to swear by 'Batiste' Dry shampoo - for an emergency boost. It comes in an aerosol and Boots stock it.

Ya know I have the same problem and I tend to notice it more because I am not a smoker. I try to avoid going in smokey places but it isnt just that...just going to a restaurant I come out smelling like that place. Your hair just tends to absorb these odors because it isnt use to it, like have you ever noticed a smokers hair? it doesnt really smell like smoke! it's wierd, I just chock it up to not being able to do anything about it so I use a quick spray of perfume sometimes and get on with it since I really cant avoid it unless I stay locked up at home etc... ;)

Probably won't be a problem after march 29th....hehehe

being a non-smoker can be so much fun!
