    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

In there should be an outlook.pst file, probably pretty big if like me you just read mails but rarely delete them. This one file contains all the mails and attachments.

    Best of luck!

copy the .pst file quick to somewhere else , anywhere . NOW!

Leave outlook open if you can. IIf you have exited stay out of it till you copy the pst file. If you exit and reenter Outlook the mails could be gone as it compacts to finally delete the mails and free up space on your HD.

as long as the .pst file is over 100k in size it still has data , addys take up very little space if the file is over 1Mb in size it still has mail in there , albeit hidden as they are flagged for deletion.

there are lotsa utils around to rescue corrupt or half deleted emails from .pst files.

Make a few copies of the outook.pst fle.

    1. Try scanpst.exe (part of Office install or on office cd maybe as scanpst.ex_ ) see if that 'sees' anything . It can fix some probs.

    2. If the pst file is 2048Mb or over it has reached its max limit. You must use an MS Util called PST2GB.exe to reduce it below that limit. It could be that.

    3. If not you need commercial utils, I cannot remember what I last used. Is it outlook 2000 or XP By the way, I hear outlook XP is a tad awkward to recover.
