My TV has started to switch itself off moments after being switched on. The whole thing goes off, standby light and all. It does come back on after a couple of minutes and works fine for a while before switching off again. It is a rather elderly Samsung. Any ideas or is it time for it to go to the great electrical shop in…

Doesn't sound too major. It may be just a powersupply problem (inside the TV). Perhaps capacitor dodgy or dry joints. Probably worth having it looked at anyway.
