Lad12, you can't expect people to know news that has only broken an hour ago. Provide a link next time.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rangers/3497774.stm
Rangers manager Alex McLeish has told three of his top team players that they have no future at Ibrox.
Nuno Capucho, Emerson and Christian Nerlinger have been told to find new clubs in the summer.

Henning Berg and Michael Mols will also leave at the end of the season when their contracts expire and McLeish hopes Egil Ostenstad will also depart.

"I spoke to the players yesterday and made it plain they are not in my plans," McLeish told the Rangers News.

The trio's contracts extend beyond the summer, so if buyers cannot be found then the cash-strapped club will be forced to negotiate pay-off deals to get them off the wage bill.

The de Boer twins, Frank and Ronald, are also out of contract and it now looks unlikely that they will be offered new deals.

After their recent Scottish Cup defeat at the hands of Celtic, the Ibrox club will now finish the season without a trophy.

McLeish has decided to take immediate action and confirmed the clear-out plans in the Rangers News.

We worked hard with Emerson but our expectation levels were so much higher than what we had been getting

    Alex McLeish

He said: "I need some players to go if I am to rebuild the way I want to and have decided to be honest with them - as I always have been."

The Ibrox club paid Porto around £690,000 for Capucho last summer, but he never appeared to have adapted to the Scottish game and has failed to win over the fans.

Emerson, the former Middlesbrough midfielder, was brought in at the last minute, following captain Barry Ferguson's departure to the English Premiership.

He started solidly but gradually disappeared from the first-team picture.

Nerlinger was signed by former manager Dick Advocaat in 2001, but serious injury has restricted his opportunities.

McLeish said: "Nuno and Emerson have struggled to fit into the culture, or whatever.

"I felt there were signs Nuno was making progress but it didn't quite materialise the way I hoped.

"I can't fault Christian for effort - and the same goes for Michael (Mols).

"I feel they have given everything in games.

"However I have decided I now have to look ahead and these players must find new clubs in the summer."
