wishfull thinking?! a 2-1 deficit is hardly impossible to turn around against porto at home. i'd say utd have more chance beating porto than celta vigo do of beating arsenal.

    Chelsea 1-1 Stuttgart
    Juventus 3-1 Deportivo
    Lyon 2-0 Sociedad
Man Utd 2-1 Porto (porto to win on penno's!? its going to be close anyway could go either way)

lad12 u honestly think celta vigo are going to turn over against arsenal, they have to win by two clear goals really or else 4-3
and they got beaten 5-1 at hoem to espanyoul(sp?) over the weekend

I think Man United and Porto will go to penos

I'm quite worried that United will lose on away goals :/
Lets hope we can see a proper united preformance tonight :)

I find it hilarious that lad12 said that itw as wishful thinking of united supporters when an arsenal supporter said it :)

Anyone else hear that Slyvestre might be back today?

well he supports leeds after all...

I'm not so sure Arsenal and Milan will win easily either... I get the feeling that someone will thrash someone in this set of games and these were the only games I could fit the thrashing into ;)

Both games at 2-1 and 2-0 respectively until the final 5 mins when the floodgates open... one can hope! :)

He should be. He was rated doubtful for the Fulham game which means he had half a chance of playing so he should be back by now plus hes in all the Probable Lineups in the papers

Me too lets hope if we go out we at least give a good performance. At least as its the second game teams will know what they have to do to get through.

He is supposed to be back with gary neville to partner him in the centre defence.

Looking forward to the Utd match - thats a first for me. But it should be a brilliant game. Can't see Utd playing badly and Porto are a good side too. Too close to call but peno's is a big possibilty:D

    8 Butt
    10 Van Nistelrooij
    11 Giggs
    18 Scholes
    19 Djemba-Djemba
    22 O'Shea

    Tonights Lineups!!!

    United [edit]diodn't see above post[/edit]:
    Howard

    Neville----O'Shea----Brown----P.Neville

    Fletcher----Djemba----Butt----Giggs

    Scholes

    RVN

I can't see that team doing any damage to Porto TBH.

    Cudicini

    Johnson
    Terry
    Gallas
    Bridge

    Parker----Lamps----Makelele----Gronkjaer

What I want tonight is a solid perfromance from the back 4 no arsing around and nick a few goals.

It's time we stopped mickey mousing around with these sides and put them away.

Man Utd 3 - Mickey Mouse Utd 0

    Chelsea 2-0 Stuttgart
    Juventus 2-1 Deportivo
    Lyon 2-1 Sociedad

    Arsenal 3-0 Celta Vigo
    Monaco 3-1 Lokomotiv
    Milan 2-0 Sparta
Real Madrid 0-3 Bayern Munich (watch and learn :) )

I said when I saw this fixture before Christmas that Porto would win, they are totally underrated and knowhere near a mickey mouse side. Plus Porto had major injury problems too when they beat United two weeks ago.

UTD are losing and they leave SAHA on the bench??

I would have played scholes instead of Djemba Djemba and played Saha up front with RVN.

Yes but you don't have a multi million pound contract to pick the team....how many champions leagues have YOU won?

don't mind me i'm in a pissy mood

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

hmm, the spine of that team (O'Shea, Brown, Butt, Djemba-Djemba) doesn't exactly inspire confidence... they'll have to be on top of their game.

I hate when everyone predicts arsenal to win :(

Cant you all just go back to saying "Arsenal are overrated tbh and will throw it away as usual" please?

Have to say this makes sense. Also, didnt stepovers have a fairly good game against fulham? As overrated as he is, i think hes a better bet than Darren Virgin :)

    LOL no bother

Duff starts for Chelsea for the first time in 2004, thats good news.

I predict united to lose in extra time now after seeing that team

I'm only worried about Brown he's been non existant the last few weeks,

everyone else on their day can do the buisness lets just hope it's their day.

I think Mark lawerson explained exactly why he didn't go that way.

Scholes is not the best covering player in the world, which leaves the midfield very exposed, not so bad when keane is there but leaving butt to try and control the midfiled the way the defence has been would be pretty disasterous.

that was basically his take on it. and i agree totally.

Fair point but hard to see RVN doing it on his own up there, I also read that Saha is on the bench because he is not 100% fit.

He won't be on his own scholes will play off him as he has done so many times it's tried and tested in the league and in europe,

It's not going to make feck all difference if brown plays the way he has been the last few games, we're under way

    wan the devils!

    GET IN THERE@!@!@!@!

1-0 united for anyone not watching :D

robbed for 2-0 scholes a mile onside linesman should be shot.

Good goal(s) but as a whole Utd are stuttering again.
Still think Porto will get something.

    Mike.

    SAHA IS INJURED!

He is nursing an achilles problem.

That is why he is not playing from the start.
As overrated as he is, i think hes a better bet than Darren Virgin

I think Fletcher is tougher up against this Portugeuse side instead of Ronaldo. I say he will be on later on in second half.

EDIT: Saha just came on for injured Djemba.

Oh look i was right!!....I got one result wrong last nite and that was the suprise defest of juve..If i had of known that juve had so many first team players out injured i might have changed my decision...CELTA will prove me right tonight...Real Madrids match mite be difficult to call since ronnie is out injured...but hopefully they will go through...cos ya always want the "cream" of Europe in the last 8..like REAL and A.C Milan
