Redundancy Question

Quick question for anyone who might know; at least two people have suggested, talking to them, that in Ireland, employers must assign a number of days off for employees (being made redundant) for attending interviews etc that may occur while serving out their notice - outside of their holidays left over? Is this true? And if so, where is the legislation saying either yay or nay?

I was told that you are entitled to take time off for interviews aswell. Not sure if its full days or how many though.

Time Off

If you are being made redundant, you are entitled to reasonable paid time off in order to look for a new job or to make arrangement for training for further employment.

Not very useful, but it does give a guideline.

Hi,
If you are made redundant than you are entitled to £5k tax free in your lump sum redundance package. You can only avail of this once in your lifetime.
