The Celtic v Barca match is on BBC Scotland this Thursday but will we be able to see it over here? They usually block out the matches for some reason.

Well I've just checked the EPG schedule for BBC1 scotland next thursday and they have the match listed as showing on satellite.

Don't they normally show something different on satelite when an issue like that arises as they are not encrypted
    anymore.

So You should be able to watch it through other channels on an irish card.

well if the match is on bbc anywhere in the uk then more than likely RTE will pick it up also

Possibly. The blackout on satellite only occurs for SPL games.

And I'd say RTÉ would cover it too.

Setanta have bought the rights to the match, so it wont be shown on BBC scotland on SKY. But in saying that, for some reason the Teplice Away match was shown on Setanta and you were still able to view it on BBC Scotland on SKY.

well some good and bad news. the bbc scotland will only broadcast the game via terrestrial. setanta have rights but so do TG4!!

so it will be on tg4 for free

It will be on BBC Scotland on Satellite and also Setanta.

Setanta only have the rights to UK outside Scotland and Ireland. EPG is showing Sportscene listed and BBC website shows it when BBC1 Scotland Digital listings are viewed. BBC Scotland also showed the Teplice game last week. The only games which can not be shown live on satellite due to contract reasons are the SPL games.

    From a Celtic email:

Celtic versus Barcelona in the fourth round, first leg of the UEFA Cup is coming to a television near you! It is arguably the biggest game Celtic Park has seen in years and you can enjoy it LIVE - even if you won't be one of the lucky 60,000 in attendance.
Viewers in Scotland can watch the match on BBC Scotland while those in the rest of the UK and Ireland can catch every kick off the ball thanks to CelticTV on Setanta Sports channel 435 (Sky Digital). Subscribe today at a cost of £7.99 via the Select button on your remote control or alternatively call 08708 500 005*. Cable customers should contact their provider/operator directly.

    Damn only on TG4

BBC Scotland only have the preview of the game

It's a huge game in the east end of Glasgow as Barcelona visit Celtic Park.

The preview programme is available on Digital Satellite but the actual game will not be.

TG4 again. You can get English commentary on BBC radio 5 and Newstalk 106.

Didn't anyone listen to the commentary on Newstalk? All through the game the commentator kept calling Ronaldinho, Ronaldo!! Very annoying. I was wondering who was this new player Barcelona had signed or whether it was a match from a few years ago when the big man used to play for them.

TG4's coverage is brutal. No info given when players were booked or substituted.

We won't be able to see it on BBC Scotland as it is only available through terrestrial TV in Scotland. The same may apply to BBC3 but I doubt it.

Pal, digiguide lists it as follows:

    Time: 19:55 to 21:55 (2 hours long).
When: Thursday 25th March on TG4

Live coverage of the 4th round UEFA Cup clash between Barcelon and Celtic from Nou Camp, Barcelona.

It will definitely be on BBC3.

As for Sutton, I can't see him making the Barca match, he didn't play today and looks highly unlikely to be fit for Thursday. Varga and Thompson didn't play today and are also doubtful.:(
