Anybody else watch this movie last night, all the way through a guy was signing in bottom end of screen, talk about ruining a film, anyone know the story about this?

If Sky want to provide signing for a limited number of screenings of some films its okay by me.

Sky have been making a positive effort for deaf/blind viewers/listeners.
    In addition to subtitles:
    1. Narrative (indicated by N on program synoposis)
This is a dialog indicating what is happening for blind subscribers.
    2. Signing
A limited number of movies and other programs are signed.

I don't know how signing could "ruin a film".
Signing can do nothing for the weak plot, bad script and wooden performances.

Don't get we wrong, i agree that is grand but should they not dedicate one movie channel to complete signing of all major movies! It is good to see sky help out people with needs.

But if this is going to happen in every film, which i doubt, it would turn me off

So I take it you don't watch Sue Thomas: FBI on Net2 or Hallmark, where some of the actors are deaf and sign throughout the program.

Why should "special needs" viewers be margianalised to a special channel?

You are missing my point, i am hearing impaired myself and would welcome more subtitles etc on channels like bravo, hallmark and sci-fi, but in this you have the option of turning them off, there was no such option on the film i saw last night with the signing.

If sky would allow an extra option for signing that can be turned on and off wouldnt that be perfect for everyone to watch. Sky have nine movie channels going to waste so they could easily dedicate a channel to people who use signing if they are not willing to make it a turn on/off option on EPG.
