I think you dismissed this too early... I mean, where else can we talk about mens products, fashions, things that we like, whether or not body waxing is still strictly for gays....

    I agree!

However, surely Afterhours is appropriate for "mens products, fashions, things [men] like."

And GLB for the body waxing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,187 ✭✭✭✭Sangre

Lets just get a Fashion/Appearance or what ever forum and be done with it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

    I certainly like the idea.
But I don't like the idea that it's a "Men only" board

Throw a bit more Fashion into the board, and it could be very cool.

    That could be fun.

Yeah, in fact change the whole orientation and make it a fashion board.

We don't need one anymore than the girls do. And how the hell would it be differentiated anyway? PRACTICALITY gentlemen.

    ie, No.

Bad Idea in my opinion.... dont think it'll get much traffic, oh and it's fairly gay tbh.

Tag the word Metrosexual onto the LGB board ;)

Yes, of course. Next we'll have LGBTQRSKitchenSink.

A fashion board might be a good idea, but I can't for the life of me see the demand for it. I have the feeling that if it does become in anyway popular it might just turn into a vapid "what's hot or not" treatise on what the media perception is at the moment as to what is "in" and what isn't.

As for a mens forum, I really can't see the need. As for body waxing, it isn't strictly for gays, but it is gay.

It was supposed to be a humourous remark. I'll try and refrain in future.

It's only fair we get a For Men forum, the girls do have their gardening forum.

Homosexuality is gay. Actually I was referring (in a slightly sardonic way) to the manner in which some activities are perceived as being "gay", even though strictly speaking there is nothing particularly gay about them. Male grooming is one relevant example.

Maybe I should just use a smilie whenever I'm not being serious .

    :) <-- Like so.

I know, but it just emphasised a point about lumping multiple indentities in with the LGBTQ identity. I can try to make humourous remarks too dammit :).

Oh right, I was thinking you were using it in the overpopular derogatory way.

I don't think there should be a T. Transexuals are rarely LGB. And I wouldn't be for Q if its this UCD style neo-queer. But lets take that to LGB.

Back on topic, a for men forum would be "interesting".

Ya bitch! Someone with your wardrobe shouldn't be calling people names....

The forum has potential though I'd agree it'd need moderating. I vote yes.

Let's go ahead, fed up of real-world male bonding sessions about "what razor is best" etc. :D

I find myself in agreement with the above. Don't really see the need to have it for men only.

What you need to do is give me a forum... and it'll rock in a way all my own. Let the body waxing, average TP per wipe discussions commence!

  • Business & Finance Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 32,387 Mod ✭✭✭✭DeVore

Dunno about a Fashion forum (we'll discuss that on the other thread) but a Men Only forum isnt likely. I'm all for gender-only places to gather if thats their purpose but online it seems ... well... ghey :)

Anywhere from 2 to 4, depending on the ply and quilt factors.
I've even resorted to kitchen roll after a mistaken emergency purchase.
Was too late to go back to the shop when I opened the wrapping.
