I was doing that steam survey for HL2 and the Hardware List said that my P4 2Ghz CPU supported Hyper Threading. I heard of a program that can enable it on the earlier P4 CPU's. Has anyone looked into this?

    Its a P4 2Ghz w/512kB Cache 478 Pin Socket

if you're any good at soldering you can go at the P4 and enable HT :)

I heard of a thing, I think Tom's hardware had it, but basically it plugs in between your motherboard and your chip and enables HT on 1.8 ghz P4s and up.

Would it really make any noticable difference?

I read in a mag that HT has been on processors since PIII's . Just never enabled.

You can use U-shaped pieces of wire (carefully dropped into two socket holes) to connect processor pins without soldering. That way, it's easily undoable too.
