An rinne aon duine anseo gaeilge ag an tríú leibhéal?

Ar an foirm CAO tá muinteoireacht bunscoil mar uimhir 1 ach nílim ro-cliste :p agus mar sin tá súil agam "Arts" (ceard é an gaeilge ar sin?) i UCD a dhéanamh. Tá sé ar intinn orm gaeilge agus stair na healaíne a dhéanamh ansin. An bheadh an gaeilge an-deacair? Chuaigh mé go dtí bunscoil lan-gaeilge agus mar sin níl tusicint an gaeilge fhadhb ach mar a feiceann sibh, níl mé ro-mhaith ag scríomh an teanga!

Cheapaim go mbeadh sé an-mhaith muna raibh sé ro-deacair!
    Ceard a cheapann sibh?
ps: chuir mé glaoch ar comhar na muinteoirí gaeilge inné agus tá siad chun cóip do "cúrsaí gaeilge" a sheol thugaim.

you'll have to excuse me, i'd type in irish but it'd just take too long right now.

i'm in first year in UCD doing arts, irish is one of my subjects, and although i really love irish, i'm starting to regret choosing the course.

obviously as someone who went to an irish primary school you'll find it a fair bit easier to understand, but they are a HELL of alot more particular about aspects of the language such as grammar than my teacher was in secondary school, which im finding quite tough, and i spend aaages trying to get finicky grammar exercises done correctly, and i'm still only coming out with 4's and 5's out of 10.

i feel like there's much more emphasis on the literature we're doing than actually improving our language skills, which is what i really wanted.
there is also a huge amount of literature covered, i've covered as much this year as i did in the three years for the leaving cert.

while i still want to continue with studying the language, i found im not enjoying the course as much as i thought i would, and there's alot of reading work involved(through irish, which is alot harder than it sounds)

i guess my standard of irish wasn't really up to scratch and i just wasn't expecting this much material to be covered, but i've realised thats just part of an arts degree.

Rinne mise céim sa Gheailge leis! An rud is tábhachtaí ná a bheith in ann an teanga a scríobh agus a labhairt go maith ach beidh ort am a chaitheamh leis seo mar ní féidir gach rud a chlúdú sna léachtaí (lectures).

Mholfainn duit leabhar gramadaí maith a cheannach agus féachaint air anois agus arís chun go dtuigfeá an gramadach go léir. Bheadh sé go maith leis dá bhféadfá dul go dtí an nGaeltacht nó duine a fháil a labharfadh Gaeilge leat go rialta agus ba chóir duit éisteacht le Radio na Gaeltachta nó TG4 ó am go ham agus a bheith ag faire amach do fhocail agus do nathanna cainte (expressions) nua.

Is fíor nach bhfuil sé chomh héasca agus a cheapann daoine céim(degree) a fháil sna healaíona(arts)!

Ba bhreá liom gaeilge a dhéanamh sa choláiste ach, cosúil le snickerpuss, níl fhios agam an mbeadh mo chaighdeán ghramadach ard go leor. Cén sórt litríocht an ndéanann tú sa chéad bhliain Seraphina?
