Is it possible to run four HD's by using the two SATA channels & the two ATA channels?

    TIA

It would depend on your motherboard but if you have a standard IDE connector (2 drives on the cable) and two SATA connectors (1 driver per cable) free it stands to reason that you will be able to support 4 drives on them.

Yes. I'm using on board RAID with two SATA drives in RAID0 and have had 2*optical and 2*ATA drives connected at same time as well
