What sort of job are you looking for? What sort of experience do you have in this area? and as Eurorunner said where are you going?

If you're looking for barwork or the likes some jobs get offered in the herald but they are usually 6 month+ jobs. If you're looking for something related to a college course it's unlikely agencies will help. Approaching companies direct would be a better idea.

Another option if it's a college related job you are seeking is to get into the Iaeste, Aiesec or another similar program.

My advice would be to head for Munich/Stuttgart/Heidelberg/Frankfurt. This is where the money is and the unemployment rates are low. In addition, there are more english speaking expats in these areas than up north and the east - due to international companies based in these locations. Also, there are still thousands of us military personnel based in stuttgart/heidelberg/mannheim/wuerzburg and there are temp jobs to be had for english speakers on the bases.

First port of call where ever you decide to go should be the irish pub - locate the one where the expats hang out the most. This is your jobcentre! If there isnt work in one of the pubs, someone will know where there is work for you;)

    Have a good one.

i went to munchen last summer, well for 2 weeks of it. Cudnt get a job :(
anyways i think i might head to Stuttgart considering i will be going to a college in stuttgart in september.
    What is an expat?

Expat = expatriate. Ex ("out of"), patria ("fatherland"/home country)

I'm an expat, for example, i live and work outside my own country.

What Eurorunner says is true - loads of work to be found in the Stuttgart/HD area. Eurorunner, have you lived there? I've lived in HD for four years. Who knows, we probably drank in O'Reilly's together :)

any of ye know any websites for finding jobs in pubs or any sort of part time jobs...
Only sites i can find are for full time jobs and the sites are in german.

I dont know if you're going to find the equivalent of nixers.com in german. Your best bet is to keep an eye out on notice boards in the student dorms, canteens etc - part time work/bar work etc is quite easy to find in Germany. Cafes, bars, restaurants are always looking for (and taking on) students to help them out.

it's amazing how many irish people you meet in Heidelberg - i met the missus there, that's why im in Dublin now!
Sean Og's was a great place too.

any chance ye guys know the manager? :)

Niall was the manager whilst i was there and if their website is up-to-date, he still is. I wouldnt know him well enough to get you sorted but if you base yourself there, then this is the pub that attracts the most english speaking expats whereas the others will have more locals.

Yes! Niall Skelly! The last i heard he was quitting O'Reilly's and starting work for the Americans (might only be a rumour though) (Tiesto - there's a large US base there, some of my friends found work there as well). They recently opened O'Reilly's in Frankfurt and Duesseldorf - and several years ago, as you might have heard, in Brussels and Amsterdam as well.
