    Hello all,

I hope the moderator doesn't mind me posting this - if you do Mod - I'm sorry, but I think this is relevant to young artisits!

Basically a new site is being launched - www.thestreetgallery.com

The website due to launch in April, will provide an opportunity for young budding irish artists, or even established artisits to sell their work over the internet from this website.

They would love to hear feedback form upcoming artisits and established artisits etc!

So if you have any advice, tips or suggestions please email them!

    Thanks
    Tom

    Thanks for the comment!

Yes - if there is a demand for it. So far only the paintings area has been researched. But there is no reason for photography or any other forms of art not to be on the website.

In saying that, I know there has been a lot of research into delivery of paintings etc, that would also have to be researched on the photography side of things!

    hmm. Borderline advertising:)
This is also exatly the kind of thing we have the link/resources sticky up for tho.

    A couple of questions.

Will this be a free service for artists? like with, say Freelance Ireland?

Sorry Havok - delete away if you think it should be!
I honestly posted in good faith, to get some input form this community as to how they would like the website to work. I really think this will value artists that want to get the art out there to a wider audience.

I know they have talked to artists already who wouldn't be very computer literate, so hearing from a computer literate artisits would probably give them a better input into what services they can offer to them.

They have talked about print, but I think the plan was to approach printmakers that would provide irish art on canvas, for example like www.canvascraft.com - as I know little of the art industry, I don't know if that is the same thing!

The site will not be like freelance ireland, as they want everythin to be handled through TheStreetGallery.com brand. It's all part of their marketing plan.

Is it a free service - as they have plans for big things it won't be free - I know that they will be looking for a percentage of the sale - but other than that I'm not sure.

Anyway - I will do my best to answer any questions that are asked, but you can also contact them directly. But I don't mind being the in between man as I posted this message!
