    Light

Low tide at evening as long and as light as your hair,
Greatful for summer and glad of the sun on our heads.
O to be free and to notice such things as this grass,
This is our garden - we're not going anywhere fast.

Beer in a bottle and plastic fork food from a tray.
It's four in the morning and thirty degrees in the rain.
Our tired eyes notice the end of the road isn't far.
That light in the sky's not a spaceship or plane- it's our star.

If I was to hold you in such a way
So all i can see is the light on your face
I've been here before but it's not quite the same
All i can see is he light on your face.

Scienide and soap and a fair share of whiskey to boot.
That girl's not a girl and the gay one is straight well who knew!?
There's fire in my glass and it burns through my throat as I speak.
I'm a duck in a barrell as kids sell me things i don't need.
