Does anybody know if the Audigy ES:

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=120860&cks=PRL

has a digital output suitable for plugging into the optical inout on a Dolby Digital Amp. I have found a site that says it has, but want to be sure before I buy?

It doesn't have an optical output, no. You'd need a coaxial to optical converter box yoke. Peats and Maplins might do them.

Would I be correct then in presuming this has some sort of 1/8 jack coax output, my amp has coax (phono plug) and optical inputs...Apart from Komplett I can't find much info on this card, and I don't think Komplett is very comprehensive.

Just check the Creative website direct then. Those cards all have minijack outputs. You just need an adapter cable (from minijack to coax (female)) and bob's yer uncle.
