    and better rental prospects.

In the Prorperty supplement of to-day's Irish Times there is an article about an apartment complex in the IFSC which has an 'Invisible Access' telecoms system. It is a wireless system which allows subscribers (Euro 119.79 anually) to surf, video conference, and 'free phone calls'.

The system uses a 54mbps wireless network hooked to a 4mb BB connection. The calls can be made to any country in the world except Ireland by connecting an 'earth phone' to your PC. Sounds like VOIP. The install took 4 months and around 10% of the 333 apartments have signed up.

The article goes on to point out that this system can be retrofitted to older apartments fairly easily and would be a way to increase the attractiveness of an apartment - especially in upscale areas.

Sounds like an interesting development, and another way of avoiding paying line rental to Eircom.

    M.
