    Guys,

I currently have the normal sky digital package and get all the standard channels for ireland. But I would like to get ITV etc but cannot...Where can I get a card (I know I will have to swap them each time, I can live with that!) that will let me watch them any vendors in ireland yet or anyone have any for sale or know of anyone as I love ITV and get a bad reception via Terristial here.

    thanks :)

Woody, there are several threads on this forum relating to this subject, just try using the search button, it has really been done to death at this stage, check replies later than jan 31st 2004 as they are relevant to the new situation regarding these cards.

The only way at present seems to be Ebay but beware

Stay well clear of Buy and Sell and companies offering you cards for over €200

An expired UK subscription card will work if you know anyone in the North or UK who has one

You can tune all BBC tv and radio tru "other channels" as covered in the sticky at the top of the page

I payed 150 for mine which ott but I wanted it badly enough so I forked it out.

I am in no way trying to make money here just in case people think I am, I'm just willing to pass info someones way if they badly want one and can't get it through any other avenue.:)

Yes the FTV card scheme is closed but may reopen, so be patient..

The FTV card really only gives 3 channels
    * ITV (The regions are nearly identical)
    * C4 (The 5 or 6 regions only differ in adverts)
    * Five (no variation?)

ITV may go FTA like BBC in September.

Five may become a Pay TV channel.

So do you really want to fork out much?

ITV2 is a Pay channel. But this might change in September too.

All the BBC & Radio will also appear if you power up the box with upside down or any non-Sky card in slot. As soon as you remove card, the Irish EPG returns.

Other Channels also works for BBC3 and BBC4. Note these are only on after 7pm. During the day they are CBBC and Cbeebies.

There are a LOAD of BBC radio. I enjoy BBC R6 and BBC R7 as well as the better known BBC R4 and R2.

What's happening in September? Is that when the deal they have with Sky runs out?

This article from Digital Spy talks of a merger between CH4 and Five, why would they want to become a subscription channel? Surely Five would want to encourage more viewers given their low figures since the start, by remaining FTV or even going FTA on satellite

Sky have most of the shares in Five that RTL don't own and have been increasing their stake.

Also the article is in Guardian, notoriously illinformed articles in last year regarding satellite.

I wonder if Sky would buy C4?

The law was recently changed regarding media ownership that had prevented Sky having a majority stake in Five.

I bought my card for e80 from a guy on ebay. It's a NorthWest card so its Granada ITV which doesn't bother me.

I was totally new to it as well. There was guys in the buyand sell looking for e150 - e200 for 'em!! Went to ebay, type in search "ftv skycards".
Look out for people selling alot of digiboxes. I saw this seller selling like 100+ sky boxes. So I emailed him and asked him for a card only. No problem, £50. I paid him through paypal straight away, had the card two days later. Great guy, rang me to see if it was ok..

    :)

Well done, but do not take down the aerial just yet as expired sub cards are not 100% guarenteed to remain working indefinetly, unlike legitimate FTV cards which will work until at least Dec 2005.

I am about to buy a FTA card from a bloke in the UK ( via Ebay). He said that the card is activated. I take it that all I need to do is insert it in my DigiBox, or do I need to call someone in the UK to get it married to my Digi box.
