you know the way in a dos box you can "pause" the window so you can examine some output (you just select a bit of text or something), well how does one do the same in a terminal in, say, Solaris?
Currently, if I select a bit of output (output from my app that is) and then something else is printed out, it jumps back down to the bottom of the window and I loose where I was.

    anyone got any ideas?

    cheers

<CTRL>-S should stop the output, scroll to where you want using <shift>-<pgup> and <shift>-<pgdn>.

To start the output again use <CTRL>-Q
