I have recently received 6 DVD's of MAME ROMs, 4752 working games and I have to choose around 200 or so to go onto the cabinet I'm building.

I don't want to put too many on as the spec of the machine is old enough and I reckon the fewer, the faster it should perform.

Anyway, this is where you guys will hopefully help me out. I started going through ALL of the games, picking out the best of them... I got as far as B... there's just too many.

So what I would like from you guys is your top 3 games of all time (arcade games now ladies and gents, no SNES, MEGADRIVE, N64, etc etc)... or if you feel you must, your top 5, 10 games etc. Try and stray away from car games and games that used a gun, as the cabinet is simply two joysticks and 6 buttons per player.......

I'll then look at these lists and use these ROMs... this way hopefully I'll get a good fistfull of good games without having to comb through them myself!

It's not laziness I swear, this is a project for college and I don't have the time to be going through 4752 games!

Cheers everyone, let the listing begin........

    Street Fighter 2 of course.

Scrolling beat em ups are loads of fun with 2 players. Try:

Alien vs. Predator, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, the konami simpsons game, final fight

For shoot em ups the best would be

Hyperduel, R-type 1+2+leo, 19XX, nemesis, salamander, Contra 1 and super contra. can't think of anymore.

You may have some problems playing a few of the newer neogeo games mentioned above on that set up. Don't forget to put neogeo.zip into your rom folder to play them. :)
