Different Laptop Bags in Dublin

Anyone know where I can get a backpack/schoolbag like laptop bag in Dublin that's waterproof?
I don't particularily want to be carting around a standard laptop bag on O'Connell St. with a Dell logo stamped on the front as I feel they're too much of a target for robbing.

    Thanks

    I doubt you'll find a waterproof though.

Emerson, Arnotts sell backpack type laptop bags downstairs (near all the travel accessories). Unfortunately they're a bit small, but since you seem to have a DELL they might do. The only alternative I found was, as Henry_14 said, PC World (though since Currys and Dixons also carry them at different prices, if you're forced to buy one of these because your laptop is large it's worth checking all 3 shops in Blanchardstown shopping centre - saved €20 on mine).

I'll pop into Arnotts tomorrow and see if they're suited to the job.

    Thanks Mixie!

Heh, it's amazing, I'm looking for the same thing myself.

Had a look in Curry's, PC World, Argos etc (haven't been to Arnotts but I doubt they'd have a better selection.

So far, the best I've found is a Targus backpack in Beyond 2000 (near St. Stephen's Green shopping centre) and it's 90 euro.

It's a bit on the expensive side but looks well built, it's made out of hard wearing nylon, with padded straps, padded laptop compartment, and most importantly it looks like your normal backpack - nothing to advertise the fact you've got a laptop in there.

Not wanting to be ripped off by Irish retail stores, I checked the web. You can get it online at the manufacturer's website for 65 euro + VAT. That's about 80 euro inc VAT.

And then I found a lovely Irish online store - elara, where you can get this for 57 euro inc VAT ! They have quite an impressive selection, the only problem is their online store is a nightmare to search through. Have a look at www.elara.ie

i got mine in Arnotts during the summer, a backpack type thingy with a laptop compartment in the back. It was priced €75, but i haggled down to €65 (not that impressive i suppose, but every little helps, eh?)

It does the job too? "compusafe" is the brand, fits mine (15") screen or if you had a 14.1" screen there was a zipper bag for cables that filled the rest of the space.

though elara might also be a good bet, i wasnt aware of them when i was looking for my own bag.

Lowe Alpine do a good backpack for laptops. I think its water resistant and it has quite a lot of room for storage. Try the lowe alpine shop in temple bar or Great Outdoors off grafton street.
