Depends where you're living and your experience really.
I'd say 22K would be about right for an entry level position.
There's a salary survey on Irishjobs.ie that would give you the industry average figures. just remember they're an average.

Depends on how junior the role is (or isn't)

Basically depending on the company you could be looking at anywhere between €17/18k at the low end to €25k at the upper end.

€22k sounds about right though -> possibly the higher middle range of the scale.

Really depends on the job and the amount / type of experience you have.

    thanks for the replies lads

    Lets say responsibilities include

    1. Creating, editing, removing majority of website content,
    2. Maintaining said site , developing extra functionality and improvements.
    3. Designing and maintaining a totally new site.

Involving Databases , Scripting languages , Design Work etc..

All of the above as a solo developer.

With 1 years experience in similar role.

    Location: Dublin

I dunno, wouldn't it be a little higher, say 24-30ish? Just guessing from similar roles.

Moving to Work in any case.

Web design is a bit of a grey area as it incorporates both graphical design and coding. Therefore artistic ability enters into the equation.

If you're doing any difficult or intensive coding then you'd be in the 26-32k bracket. If you're a gifted graphic designer then you're in that bracket also. If you're both then you're anywhere from 32-40k+. Entry levels etc. don't really apply once you're in full control of you're output. If you're outputing the highest standard of web design and development then you can charge what ever you like, no matter how long you've been doing it.

But that isn't how things work in Ireland as business mindsets haven't caught up with new media. So from what you've described and presuming, just for arguments sake, you're a mediocore designer, I'd say you should be on 24k.

That's coming from 6 long unappreciative years in the industry, good luck!
