Seeing as I don't know just from reading specs on a site, I thought I'd ask for your advice. I'm looking for a new monitor, with a viewable screen size of 18" at least (I'm well fed up with 13/14"!!). Can anyone recommend one of that approx size that will still display games well (I tend to play my games in 800*600 mode, if that makes a difference). Would I be able to pick up something like this for around 300 yoyos?
    Thanks :)

If you are playing in 800x600 then you should be looking at a CRT. TFT's start at 1024x768 and 800x600 looks terrible on them. Why do you play at 800x600?

Yeah, CRT does be what I'm wanting (cant afford a TFT of any sort! :)), play in 800*600 cuz my current monitor has only 13 or 14" viewable screen area, and anything above that is just simply to bloody small to see! :D

eh, dont play games in 800x600. Play them in 1024x768 minimum.

Go for a flat tube CRT too. I have myself a Hansol 19" from komplett and I am very happy with it.

Some games are worth playing in 800x600 to get above 120hz, and they don't look much better in 1600x1200 even.

I just bought a second hand 21" sony trinitron flat crt that can display 1600x1200 at 100hz. Only e300 for one of the best 21" crt's you can get. Keep an eye on the for sale board for anything that comes up. I got lucky.

Otherwise you can get a decent 19" for under e300 new.
