I'm sure there's plenty more I would've added to that list, but from what's there, definetly The Goonies!

    Utterly classic film.

    HHheeeaaaayyyuuuuuooowwggggaauuuyyysss!!!

ID hardly call Shrek a childs film really, more of a childish adults film :)

Willy Wonka! Easily the winner. Sing it with me: Chumba wumba gobbledy gorse....

From the list, I choose The Goonies. Watched it again a few weeks ago on TV.

Didn't realise there was a Goonies II . Anyone see it?

Why isn't Bambi or The Little Mermaid on the list?;)

    omg
you're all obviously too old to realise what a kid wants...

    THE LION KING!
    thats when disney got good....
brilliant film.... and the songs are the best too

    "C'mon dad... let's go home... c'mon..."
    OH GOD! SO SAD!:(

    THE LION KING!

Oh please The Lion King vrs Toy Story ehh no! Hello!

Anyway I was trying get all types of Kids films into this not just the Cool Hip Trendy One

I was also trying to stay away from just Disney, did think about ANTZ as an option but thought it wasn't a kids movie, I also had reservations about Shrek. But I wade up the pros and cons of both movies and put down Shrek.

I take back what I said about Sherk being Disney, Sorry:(

There isn't. The (VG) next to the title means it's a video game.

Although apparently all the original cast have signed on for a genuine sequel, and they're just waiting for the right story (rumoured to involve their kids). 10 bucks says Feldman was first to sign.

    but anyone

    I'm afraid
    The Lion King > Shrek
lion king has such an original story line, while shrek has an mediocre story line
lion king had an excellent soundtrack, shrek was too mainstream for my liking :)
lion king has many more loveable characters than shrek

    btw, Elmo
    what age are you?
    i'm 15
just wondering who would have more of an insight.... unless you have kids...
    then.... checkmate:D

I'm going for Toy Story. I was about 14 or 15 when I saw it, and the idea of your toys having their own little adventures when you leave the room is something that would've appealed to me as a kid. And I'd say it appeals to every kid who has ever used their imagination and given characters to their toys.

Shrek was made by Dreamworks, which has nothing to do with Disney.

The one point this poll is missing is that in general, kids' movies suck. I thought that when I was a kid and my views haven't changed (I hated then, and I hate even more now, Disney films in particular).

Oh I was sure Shrek was Disney, well I was trying to get a Dreamworks production into the list.
    The Lion King > Shrek
lion king has such an original story line, while shrek has an mediocre story line
lion king had an excellent soundtrack, shrek was too mainstream for my liking

Have to say I haven't seen the Lion King, But as far as I know I was a child when it was released.
You where 3 you don't even remember it being released, Cheakmate and what evera the fU cK comes after that. :D
1992? around that time anyway. By the way I was putting Toy Stroy up againist Shrek.

I liked the Donkey in Sherk and the Dragon, Just because they don't get McDonald Dolls  But that's another board and different arguement.

You will see I put down Snow White as the Disney Movie Old Style and Toy Story as the new style. I just forgot about The Lion King as I haven't seen it, also you will note I put down Other for those of you who did not like what I listed.

I think I have a fairly broad poll.
The one point this poll is missing is that in general, kids' movies suck.

Yeah I have to agree generally Kids movies do suck, But every now and then there are some good ones.

I agree with the lion king having an amazing sound track but.............................

original story thats a big no no as if you look at these 2 sites (sorry 1 in jap)

    http://www.kimbawlion.com/

    http://reekan-j.hp.infoseek.co.jp/60ani5.html

you may notice that there is a big belief that disney ripped off a japanese anime named Kimba the white lion...

Shrek while obviously is not original it pokes fun at its roots...(takes thje P*ss out of every fairy tale etc)

    losing fate in disney..

    correction

    lost fate!

From the selection in the poll I picked Toy Story- it's a top film with a great voice cast, animation and score and not just for kids either.

The Lion King is based on a Japenese Movie, Disney just forgot to mention that, lol.
But its still easily the best Children's Movie, the soundtrack is ace, the animation is superb, and a good story, what else do you want? :p

I can only put down ten I did think Of Darby O'Gill but I think it is soooooo Oirish it stinks

Alice in Wonderland, again Snow White Disneys first major animation of fair tales is listed. I could have had Disneys best but dont.

And I forgot the Wizard of Oz. I perhaps should have given that in stead of Home Alone, I am so surpised it hasn't any votes.

Sorry, folks, didn't like The Lion King when it was released, don't like it now. 'well mr.disney, we had great success when Bambi lost his Mother... can we make more money with that?'

Although I do like diney overall I cast my vote for The Princess Bride, I didn't see it til I was 19 (somehow) and think it was the best film from the list.

For the record, I think my favourite film as a child was 'who framed Roger Rabbit' (though I may be the only one)
