More on UTV in Ireland, but I don't think It's anything we don't already know.

I know !I was the one who first got and posted that e-mail LAST NOVEMBER!
At this stage we are never going to get UTV why else would TV3 fork out for im a
celeb and they also have Ant and Decs Saturday night show.
I dont think TV3 would buy these if UTV was on the way fairly soon.

I don't think TV3 have paid much for those shows - at least for IACGMOOH it was apparent that they had no control over the show, no Irish representative on the show, no editorial control (by which I mean they simply took a feed, british numbers, itv.com website address, etc and re-broadcast it), no Irish correspondant to do an ITV2-type post show extra, etc. They didn't even seem to know about it themselves until about 10 days before it screened. It seems to me that they were effectively told to re-broadcast the show by their shareholders. Not sure yet on the Ant and Dec thing, but I'd guess it is a similar arrangement. Carlton and Granada simply view TV3 as ITV Ireland, and an opportunity to derive additional revenue from existing shows; in much the same way, I guess that UTV have been extending their franchise for some years now.
