Just to warn you guys about a scam involving text messages:

You get a message from the number +353877722200 with the following message:

    "U've won 2 Flights to New York worth up to euro1050. Fly 4 nothing . . . "

It then asks you to send a text to a premium rate number 57xxx - and basically it bleeds about 10 euro off your credit.

Be wary that text messages starting with 57xxx or 59xxx are high priced premium rates and can cost huge amounts to send or receive to.

Vodafone have a service whereby you can forward any SPAM messages you receive to 87726 (or VSPAM) for free, they will then raise it with the regulator.

Check this link from the business post for an article on the subject.

You can't use O2's web text to get around sending messages to premium rate numbers e.g. 57XXX or 59XXX.

Most premium rate services are "Mobile Terminate". What this means is that you send a message to 57XXX and a reply message comes back. You are charged for the replies that you receive from the premium rate number and not the other way round!

Therefore even if you can send a message from Webtext to 57XXX the replies will still go to your mobile and devour your credit!

BTW the correct number for forwarding spam messages to Vodafone is 50005 and not 87726. The Vodafone service is free.
