    u know the doctor in st voy if he was away on a mission why instead of using tom paris as back up why dont they use the holodeck and make a doctor to replace him ??? ??? ??? :confused:

    hmm coz presumabley he can back himself up on the ship before the away mission or something, so it doesn't matter too much if he gets 'killed' or they could just replace him with a new emh with out all his extra sub-routines and what not if needed?

    also they think it is ethicaly wrong to create a army of holograms to fight borg/go on damgerous away missions

    I don't know about that? Was that mentioned in the episode? They seemed to think it ok to reprogram all the original emh mark ones to mine on a planet (in one of the voyager episodes i think). We saw hundreds of them slave laboring on the surface. (Think it was that ep were the doc is sent to the alpha quad to help dr zimmerman)

    It was discused in TNG when some guy wanted to take apart Data and then make LOADS of him as workers. It was said that it is wrong to make huge copys of a sentiant lifeform (or something like that)
