Hi everyone,
Not too many gigs for the time being but we've got a varied bundle of new releases for all the family ranging from Folkish acoustic tunes for your granny and wordless vocal improv for the malformed child you keep locked in the attic.

New Releases:

United Bible Studies - Stations of the Sun, Transits of the Moon (5 euro)
While work continues in fits and starts on the impending 'Sorrowful Mysteries' album UBS have been binaurally recording impromtu folky (mostly) improvisations.
This is the first collection of these instrumentals to appear on cd-r. This album is nothing like UBS live or the upcoming 'proper' album with songs. It's a melancholy and intimate set of tunes. For the Stations sessions, the students divided themselves into duos and trios to focus on making short tunes rather than frenetic improvisation some of you may have heard live.

Team Discovery Channel - Nocturnes (4 euro)
After a hard days improvising as Murmansk, 4 of us relaxed by drinking beer and improvising in a sad melodic vein with elctric guitars and wisps of feedback. It's unlike anything else we've released.
It's released on 3" cd-r by the New Zealand label Pseudo-Arcana in a beautiful cardboard sleeve. We've got a handful in the DV section in Freebird, if you don't find it there you can order direct from NZ; http://www.sphosting.com/pseudoarcana/current.htm

Cottage Industrial volume 2 (5 euro)
28 track compilation from Norway's Humbug label features Murmansk and Agitated Radio Pilot exclusives, an alternate version of 'Time to go Home' by the Magickal folk of the Faraway Tree and an extract from a session by United Bible Studies and Colleen in the woods recorded during the Mór festival. ('...side-steps into forested string massage accompanied by moss-clad bells and bowed instrumentation' - The Broken Face) It's also got lots of amazing music from Finland to New Zealand and lots of places in between. Again it's the same story, muck all in Freebird, loads in Norway;

Seán Óg - Very Little is Weightless (5 euro)
The Murmansk and Orpheus Reedsman has made a sweet solo album which sounds like neither band. There's jazzy harmony and melody all over this but jazz it ain't; the pianos and saxes nestle up against no input 4 tracks, autoharps and squelchy synths. manages to sound both strange and Warm.

Wrecking Ball - Grunt Work
Wrecking Ball is steve fanagan. Grunt Work is a collection of improvisations for voice, microphone, effects, amplifier and a bell. It is 35 short bursts of sound, performed and recorded at home, straight to mini disc. There are no overdubs. www.stevefanagan.com
