    Can I put a new sound card into a dell box which has already integrated sound card in the mother board?

    yep.
    once you've got it plugged in & have the drivers installed, go into the control panel, then 'Sounds and audio device properties'
    switch to the audio tab & set the new sound card up to be your default card

    (that advice is for windows xp btw)
