I went recently for an interview, which seemed to go well. I was told that there is a second interview.

My question is what is asked at second interviews? The first one seemed to be fairly comprehensive.

Bump for information on this because I'm applying to same company at the moment and will hopefully be getting word on a first interview within the next day.

From the couple of second interviews I had, they are mostly panel interviews with a couple of people present (usually the relevant department manager, HR representative, and perhaps the person who would be your supervisor/mentor). They are usually quite specifically related to the job in question so have your research done on what the job entails and the general situation of the particular sector.

    Good Luck.

They will pin you down about specific job experience where it relates to the job you're going for. First interview is usually trying to get an overview of your suitability for the job, 2nd interview wants to find out how suitable you are exactly.

They'll also go into more detail about your skills, teambuilding, work under pressure all that lark.

any second interview I've had has been because the person you are going to work with is also there with the previous interviewer.

It's normally a 'getting to know you a little better' kind of interview, see if you'll fit in, you will probably discuss the job in more detail so both sides know where they're at.
Second interviews are normally just down to a couple of people, so you are nearly there!
be positive and enthusiastic, you're just dying to work for them!
    good luck with it

as B said, a second interview can be all about who you are.
it can depend a lot on the companies hiring proceedures. sometimes they like a candidate to be interviewed by technically first, and then by HR second to ensure they are the calibre of person the company is looking for. you could even then have a third interview to have a more personally chat with potential mangers etc.

there is no hard and fast rule about second interviews, but you can expect it to be either more personal, or more technical :)
