    ??? Battle Royale cheese???

One of the best original horror-type films I've seen, that was.

As for cheesy horror flicks...I have a soft spot for Friday the 13th which allows me to overlook its many and varied flaws, and some of the Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween flicks were very influential...but on the whole most of them are pretty dire.
It may be because I've watched a lot of cheesy horror, but I'd rather see something original than something that goes for the same old clichés.

(then again, this can apply to many types of film; rom-coms, action, courtroom drama, etc...It's possible to have such films done well, in which case we get what I call "popcorn movies" like Pirates Of The Carribean, but it's also possible to get Legally Blonde 2.)

i know tusky mentioned it but Evil Dead II is the best "horror" ever, God it's so hilarious. I just love the part when
he goes mad at the sink and started smashing dishes on his head!!

    Klassic film!

Anyone remember Fright Night? Great film.

    Fright Night was good alright.

The best cheesy horror I've seen recently is Freddy Vs. Jason - enjoyed it immensely.

I didn't like the film, but the commentary on the DVD is amazing.

Jason X & Freddy Vs. Jason had some funny, cheesy moments in them.

It's not the cheesy horrors I have a problem with, it's the totally unoriginal movies with NO sense of humour and a totally crap plot, recent examples being feardot.com, & dreamcatcher. Blewgh. I didn't like Cabin Fever either, despite it's 'humour'.

Gimme cheesy Friday the 13th/Nightmare on Elm St. anyday :D

    Has anybody seen them?

some of the best/worst thatspring to mind are

    i) Leprechaun 4: In Space. At the end the giant Leprechaun gets blown into pieces via the ships airlock. As his hand floats past the window the middle finger comes up to flip the bird at the 'hero'

ii)Halloween 3; again this is Paddytastic, with the Silver Shamrock factory making masks designed to kill kids left right and centre. "3 more days to Halloween, Halloween, Halloween..."

    Cheers
