Are Free2View cards paired to digiboxes?

When researching going free2view with a sky digibox and F2V card (aka ITV/Ch4 "Solus" or P2 card) I read everywhere that the card pairs itself with the first digibox it's inserted into.

Now I recently acquired a 2nd digibox. I took my F2V card out of my main digibox and tried in on the 2nd one. Voila! It worked 1st time, perfectly, just as it does on the main box.

I'd like to buy a 2nd F2V card (2nd hand), so am I safe to do so in the knowledge that it won't be paired with another box? (it would appear so...)

AFAIK a FTV card once activated will work on any box!!! Mine works on all 3 of my boxes!!! :):):)

Once the card has been activated it will work in any box. But make sure it has been activated as it is not certain if you will be able to get it activated at this stage.

It was only BBC for FTV that was paired or married to a box. Since BBC is now FTA that doesn't matters.

ON subscription cards Premium channels are usually locked to box and ordinary Pay channels not. RTE on Irish Sub is matched to box.
