Why don't you just do your tax returns for that year? I do mine every year and always get $$$ back.

don't go near taxback.com .. if you have yer pay slips and what not, post them to the tax office .. or even just call the tax office and ask them!?!

Just post your P60 to the tax office along with a letter asking them to review your taxes for the year.

That method got me a nice little cheque for €430 yesterday :)

I just rang up the Revenue Commisioners on Mount street, they have a PAYE hotline, you just have to have your PPS (RSI) Number handy. THey send you out a cheque and your bank cash it instantly.

ah the wonders of cash back... i went in to the tax office after i finished working, a month later i got a cheque for €100, then another for €450 a month later.... super sweet.....

so is 1 credit equal to €1? does that mean you have €1500??

I just said "i may be owed some tax" they say "whats your RSI (pps) Number?" You give it to them, they look at the computer and if they owe you money the send it out to you. The number for said revenue commisioners is Lo-call 1890 60 50 90, and probably on the statement they sent u! . Call it up to get the number for where you live. THey're prolly not there on the weekend.

I am not sure what sort of statement the reveune commisioners sent you, but normally "1500 tax credits" might just mean that you can take 1500 off any tax bill you paid. so if u paid say €200 tax, you could then get it back (up to 1500 infact, if u had paid them that much). Just call them up and if they owe you money its posted off to you.

Essentially if you earn €10,000 you are taxed at 20% which would equal €2,000, you then take off your tax credits in this case €1,500, meaning you would only pay €500 in tax total. PRSI and the Health Levy are calculated separately.
