I have an interview for a customer service position tomorrow with a very well know company. I this is a great job as it pays VERY well and is only a walk away from my house. I think i have a SLIGHT advantage because of this because it is not an easy place to get to so i dont think there are too many applicants. But, although i have experience dealing with customers i dont have any experience in a call centre environment.. so, how do i sell myself? I will be wearing a suit etc to the interview but when i'm in there what do i do? What do these companies look for in a customer service rep??

dont fidget, show you can listen, speak polietly and dont get thrown by weird questions like why are manholes round? how are the m's printed on to m&ms? ect

btw if they are mean and ask questions like that, think of a creative answer, shows your creative!

er have you ever had a job interview? I've never been asked something like that...I think that's strictly something that happens in the USA, specifically in Microsoft, that's where those questions came from anyway

first days are the worst, i start on mon and i am dreadin it cos i have no experience in this area and it seems to be quite a high pressured job i think.. i'll be glad when the first week is over and i'll be a lil more relaxed and hopefully know what i am doing:D

The induction period can be the hardest and indeed most crucial. Make a point to greet new ppl with a handshake and a Hello im XXXX, how are you etc. Instead of disapperaing behind a screen

    best of luck
