i'd suggest maybe looking for one online and trying a DIY (couple of US sites sell parts like this), for more recent models (like the Tungsten's) I go through Palm Support and you send it off to the UK for repair

not sure if they still do Plam V repairs, if you arne't looking for a high end model you might find you'd pick up a second hand Palm for cheaper than the repair...
