Umm why on EARTH is Jake 2.0 when it's only just begun? It's also hardly in the same league of sci-fi as the other shows in the poll. Why isn't Babylon 5 here? It's an acknowledged classic. Why not Doctor Who? You can hardly forget some of the biggest names in the genre! Given the limited choice so far, I opted for 'Farscape'.

Stargate sg 1 is the current best by a far far.....far.....far ....far way so i vote for that.

Star trek Tng and Ds9 + Bab 5 are out and out classics though.

    Star Trek - which one
What ever you say about the original series, remember it was made before most of you were born, and just blows lost in space out of the water.
Voyager, if there are no Borg I'm not interested, I perfer Enterprise (<-- not a troll). DS9 Curates egg. TNG as long as Wesley ain't there.

Would you consider the original black and white twilight zone to be a series ?

Thunderbirds / UFO / Space 1999 (the first series)

Both B5 and Farscape beat most of the Star Trek series.

Well they did that at the End of Blakes 7....

I think this poll is really poor..I mean how the hell do you put Jake 2.0 in there at all....

Dr.Who, the longest running SciFi show in the world is my
choice...Coming back in 2005! What about Battlestar Gallactica, Blakes 7, Quatermass....SciFi started before the 90s...

I hate the way you cant buy space above and beyond on DVD!
I decided i would have to DL it and then buy it ifif ever comes out on DVD. - but its a 8gig download it will take ages.

love star trek, esp ds9, love Dr who, Adore farscape and earth:final conflict rocked!

Mine too :D Azezil, change my vote please! Nothing beats the Doc and his TARDIS (or the Doc and TARDIS, if you read the old Target novels).

Thanks for the inclusion of Babylon 5 in the poll, my choice of all time classic series.
To be fair there were outstanding single episodes of ST in all the series, even I'll grugingly admit Voyager.

BTW why no "V" in this poll, or will there be a follow up for all time worst shows, mmmm tasty rodents.

Who the heck voted for Jake 2.0 after one episode?!

Firstly, it doesn't have potential 'coz it's axed :D
Secondly, it may have potential but lots of the other shows there have realised their potential and achieved it. They're surely a better vote than something that MAY be good rather than something that IS good...

Good point, it's still sci-fi even though it's also comedy. Though it's Stargate for me, easily. Better plots, better acting, no annoying characters (a certain ensen Crusher comes to mind) and the baddies are camp. Though none will ever be as camp as Dr. Smith (lost in space) or Q.

I spent the last 2 days watching the whole of Space above and beyond - amazing TV show but it cant compare to SG1 or Star Trek but it is the 3rd best.

BTW Since SG1 is going for a 8th season does that mean its better than star trek cause they only ever did 7 seasons of star trek. Is there more demand for SG1 than there is Star Trek

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

    No it doesnt user

    Stargate sg1 = 2.1 million adverage viewers
Star trek Tng = 17.5 million
Enterprise is around 3-5 million or something <--- and that's the worse star trek ever !

+ star trek has 40 year's + and 10 films ......Stargate might become a new star trek if the spin off takes off (which i hope it does)

Btw this is usa rateings.......Stargate is still by far better and is far more cost efftive per rateing point than Enterprise....So Stargate is considered (rightfuly so) to be the better show

Star trek is haveing a off seasion :( but it doesnt make stargate better than star trek over all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,905 ✭✭✭User45701

I still think star trek is better myself aswell but if Star trek go so much more ratings than SG1 how come they didnt make more seasons than SG1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,892 ✭✭✭bizmark

    Its just a ending point 7 seasion's

    Tng - 7 years
    Ds9 - 7 years
    Voyager - 7 years

As i said 17.5 million people watched the last ever ep of Tng so they didnt end it because of rateing problums

over 21 million people watched the 1st episode of voyager.
I wonder how many will watch the last SG1.
