Prob with a usb pen drive

    I have one of these http://www.twinmos.com/flash/flash_p_usb20_mobile2.htm
    (USB2.0 Mobile Disk II) which does not need a driver if you are running Xp which I am (Xp-Pro-Sp1)But when I stick it in the usb slot it comes up with "found new hardware"but after a while it says "device unknown".When I look in device manager it says the same thing.Any ideas

    Is your computer usb 1 or 2? Sometimes, even though those drives are backwards compatible, the power draw is too much.

    I would download and reinstall the USB drivers from your motherboard manufacturere's website.
    What do you mean "power draw is too much" MarkR?
