now is a good time to buy in my opinon one of the best graphics cards the 9800pro can be got for 220 mark
and intel chips are cheap enough now i think a 2.8ghz is 191 euros.

17TFT will jack your price up if you intend to play games on it you'll need the best of the best hitachi/hyundai/hercules.

as for builiding i built for the first time in the summer.

and tbh with you if you follow the instructions carefully as you will do as it's your first build then chances of something going wrong is slim.

i don't have time to spec a system atm but other guys are better here at it than me.

    COL_LOKI i think does good specifications :D

as for hard drives, 80gb will soon get used up.
go for a 160gb western digital one instead, only €105 on komplett at the mo...

you'll also need a case, mainboard & a fan (hsf, even)

dont forget a case, a good power supply, a heatsink and fan (for the chip), case fans, mouse, keyboard, floppy drive.

if your gonna get an intel chip they usually give you a heatsink+fan with it but a lot of people like to chuck this away and get a better one.

personally i still use the stock cooler but i would like to get a better one.

I'd like to build a PC with the components in the original post above but how much would it cost if I was to add decent speakers, casing, fan and other essentials.

I recently bought the following from overclockers:
Antec Sonata Piano Black Quiet Case - 380W TruePower Silent PSU - €132.64
    Altec Lansing 5100 Enhanced 5.1 Speaker System - €161.54
That Antec case is great. Great reviews and always recommended by fellow posters. The speakers are sleekly cool. Great sound too and got some great reviews. Shipping costs €48 but unfortunately it's ParcelForce = GLS and they suck. Total cost = €342.18
