Printer Supplies Scams?

Remembered from many years ago a printer supplies scam which used to run in the UK and looks as if it has now worked it's way over here. We’ve had a few phone calls from UK companies which would seem to fit the profile, calling themselves UPS(United Printer Supplies) and B Digital and would be interested to know if this is wide spread.

    Scam goes as follows:

Phone call out of the blue, informing you that company xyz's latest printer supplies catalogue is on its way to you, oh and I've also got some good news for you. As you were good enough to help us out with a recent survey, your name was entered in a draw and I'm delighted to tell you that you have won a PDA(or whatever this months fashion accessory is).

Next part of the scam is to ask for your home address, as many of the prizes posted out to company addresses have gone missing and we'd like to make sure you get your prize.

And now for the fun bit. Company xyz now sends you out some printer supplies on approval, whether you've agreed to this or not. They will then send you invoices at ridiculous margins and will continue to send you more goods that you haven't ordered. When you don't pay, you get a few sinister phone calls, threatening to tell your boss how you ordered the goods and specifically asked for the introductory gift to be sent to your home address.

As you can imagine, anyone who's new, or a bit insecure in their job, could find themselves deep in crap very quickly.
